Treatment
Program Implementation
The “RO” Center for Child Development provides an individualized plan for each resident, tailored to help them reach their goals. This is accomplished through specialized services delivered by trained professionals experienced in working with youth who have severe emotional and behavioral challenges. The program uses all elements of the resident’s living environment as therapeutic tools—this includes recreational therapy, education, structured activities, scheduled outings, and designated quiet time. A core tenet of the program is the understanding that emotional, cognitive, and behavioral challenges often have multiple causes. The “RO” Center for Child Development delivers a comprehensive service model that incorporates psychiatric consultation (including medication management when necessary), psychological evaluations and therapy, behavior modification strategies (such as a level system and time-out periods), peer support, recreational programming, and family counseling.
Treatment Planning
Every child's struggle is unique, which is why treatment plans are tailored to address every aspect of their well-being. Healing mental health issues in children requires focusing not just on psychological needs. They also need support with relationship skills, learning abilities, physical health, and emotional regulation. We surround every child with a team of behavioral health professionals, including psychiatrists, multidisciplinary therapists, residential care staff, and more.
Our goal is to give each child the following:
Ability to build authentic, trusting connections with self, peers, and their larger community
Heightened sense of purpose and meaning, motivating engagement in academics and career planning
Enhanced resilience and self-compassion
Healthy coping and self-care skills
